Dr Rick Smith, PsyD, EdD
Dr Rick Smith is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Central, Hong Kong, working with adults and teenagers on OCD, anxiety, and ADHD. He treats OCD from both sides of the chair: as a clinician trained in ERP, the treatment with the strongest evidence, and as someone who has lived with OCD himself.
He holds two doctorates and has trained at Harvard, Yale, McLean Hospital, and the International OCD Foundation. His practice is built on evidence-based methods, principally ERP, ACT, and CBT, and on more than 18,000 hours of clinical work. He is the author of STOP Reading, and his work has appeared in print, on radio, and in podcasts worldwide.
Dual doctorates in Psychology and Education, with advanced training at Harvard, Yale, and McLean Hospital. He specialises in OCD, anxiety, and ADHD for adults and adolescents, drawing on more than two decades in clinics and schools, and on his own lived experience with OCD.

Personalized care for lasting results
Personalized care for lasting results

We begin with a blank page, taking time to understand your unique situation, goals, and priorities. From there, we work together to design a flexible plan that adapts as you grow. That's because lasting change starts with care that’s built around you, not a formula.

Our work is personal. These values shape how I listen, how I respond, and how I help clients create lasting change. They guide each decision we make together, ensuring your care is focused, adaptable, and built around what matters most to you.

Courage
Real change takes bravery. I help you face challenges directly, with a willingness to take interpersonal risks, be emotionally vulnerable, and explore new ways of relating.
