Costs and location

Coaching is a long-term investment. Students typically need three to six months of hour-long sessions 1-2 times a week to unlearn the habits that got them behind and in they develop new strategies to move forward. Set backs are a necessary part of the learning process, planned for, and should be expected. Coaching happens in-person, at our offices, a local cafe, or at home.

What information do you share?

All identifiable information is kept strictly confidential. Only information that is agreed upon will be shared. A parent must introduce teachers or other professionals via e-mail with explicit consent as to what can be shared.

What outcomes can we expect?

Students learn how to  budget their time, deal with frustration and boredom and anticipate difficulties. With coaching, students begin to set up their workspace to minimise distractions and manage multiple tasks while also improving their social lives.

What do the parents do?

Sometimes parents need help changing the patterns that maintain unhelpful habits at home. Encouraging new practices like ignoring task-avoiding or reassurance-seeking behaviours can help students make progress and better-manage uncertainty.

Whats included?

Reviewing assessments, teacher notes and professional evaluations is part of the intake and included in the costs. Collaboration with other relevant professionals, such as teachers, therapists, or psychiatrists via email, follow-up calls is always included.

What Can executive functioning skills training achieve if the brain’s pfc needs 25 years to develop anyway?

EF skills training programs cannot speed up brain development. Students cannot control what distracts them either. EF skills training works when it can function to reduce the amount of time it takes to get back on task. Meaning, that with effective EF training, teens will become more aware of distractions and begin to respond in ways that are in line with their goals more often than responding to distractions.
